Today I have entered a new space , from all the verbal advise to penning my thoughts and views, ideas, experiences and hoping to connect and help many as I do in my practice.
By profession I am an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with 25 years in the field and being amazed by gods creations has probably influenced my creativity. To fulfill my inner self and fill me with happiness and satisfaction I like to create whether in the kitchen or in my arts and crafts, just as seeing my patients smile complete me.
Today as a veneration to all things auspicious I would like to share a recipe with you that is a blessing from my mother and is made whenever there are good times and new beginnings.
1 cup laapsi or burghul wheat.
1/2 cup ghee or clarified butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup of slivered almonds and pistachios
1 tsp cardamom1 tsp saffron
1 tbsp fennel seeds
Roast the laapsi with the ghee on medium heat till brown and then add boiling water and cook till half done.
Now add the sugar and cardamom, saffron, fennel seeds, almonds and pistachios and cook till the burghul wheat is soft and all the water absorbed.
Garnish with nuts and serve hot!
If serving alone it can be accompanied with any savory snack
